Wykrota Law Firm

There are four main categories of immigrant visas.

Family Ties: Designed for spouses, children, parents, and siblings of U.S. citizens, as well as spouses and unmarried children of lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders). In this case, the foreign national must be sponsored by a direct relative who is at least 21 years old.

Employment: Targeted at workers with job offers in the United States, skilled professionals, and investors who establish new business ventures in the country, creating job opportunities.

Diversity Visa Lottery: Aimed at individuals from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States through the Diversity Visa Program. However, Brazilians are not eligible for this category.

Special Immigrant Visa (SIV): Intended for employees of international organizations, religious workers, U.S. government employees abroad, and certain translators and interpreters.
