The U.S. Department of State has released the April 2025 Visa Bulletin, detailing the wait times for green card applicants. USCIS has announced that family-based applicants must follow the “Dates for Filing,” while employment-based applicants must use the “Final Action Dates.”
Key changes include significant retrogression in the EB-5 category, with China’s Final Action Date moving back by about 2.5 years to January 22, 2014, and India’s by over two years to November 1, 2019. Meanwhile, the EB-2 and EB-3 categories saw modest advancements. India’s EB-2 Final Action Date advanced by one month to January 1, 2013, and China’s by nearly five months to October 1, 2020. The EB-3 category advanced by two months for India (April 1, 2013) and three months for China (November 1, 2020). The EB-4 category has reached its annual limit and is unavailable until the next fiscal year.
Additionally, in April, the EB-1 Final Action Date for India advanced by two weeks (to February 15, 2022), while China's remained unchanged (November 8, 2022). The EB-2 and EB-3 Final Action Dates for worldwide applicants also saw slight advancements. USCIS will accept employment-based adjustment of status applications from applicants with priority dates earlier than the listed Final Action Dates.
