New Horizons for Artists

🎭 Who has never dreamed of being a Hollywood artist? Of performing on Broadway? According to data from the American Government, there is a projected 2% increase in demand for professionals in the field of arts and design in the next decade, with an addition of 20,500 new jobs. The average salary for this group in the United States is approximately $48,220 annually, depending on their specific area of expertise.

To secure this opportunity, there are visa categories designed for these artistic professionals, especially for those who excel in the arts market. For those who wish to enter the country for a short period for a specific cultural activity under a program not exceeding 1 year, the most suitable solution would be the P-3 visa. However, for those aiming to work in their field, an alternative would be to apply for the O-1 visa.

The O-1 visa is akin to the EB visas and covers outstanding professionals with renown in the arts. To qualify for an O-1 visa, the applicant must demonstrate exceptional abilities with international recognition in the field, or an extraordinary track record of achievements in the film and television industry, and must temporarily go to the United States to continue working in their area of extraordinary ability. A high level of achievement in the arts is required, with a degree of expertise above that of other professionals.

If approved, the O-1 visa allows the applicant to stay and continue their profession in the United States for up to 3 years. Additionally, it can be renewed and also grants permission for the applicant's family (spouse and children) to stay.
